In Charing Cross Library, the Bear team stared out at the glare of the city and complained about tired mornings, expensive coffee, loud neighbours... and light pollution. The idea was obvious: clear by day, blackout by night.

July 2026

F&F Raise

Initial funding from friends, famly and angles allows for pilot manufacturing equipment. Following setup, R&D develops the optimal manufacturing process. 3-months later, Bear's makes its first hire (marketing) and at the same time founder's start to recieve salary. Over the following 8-months the team work to procure pre-orders and build out a marketing funnel.

Pre-Seed Raise

Following a successful pre-order campaingn Bear is in a strong place to raise funding for a priced-round from institutional investors. £200k is chosen to allow for both angel tickets and exceed minimum round set for many BBB LP VC funds throughout London. The Pre-seed raise allows for purchasing of manufacutring equipment suitable for large-scale manufacturing. Additionally, funding allows for large runway and eases stress also allowing additional product development.
